Abstract

The aim of this work is to assess the clinical significance of monitoring of exposure to polyaromatic unsaturated hydrocarbons (PAHs) by monitoring waste urine 1-hydroxypyrene. The theoretical part of the thesis will summarize the current knowledge about toxicodynamics and toxicokinetics of PAU, what are the impacts on human health in smoking, the importance of 1-hydroxypyrene monitoring and analytical possibilities of monitoring this parameter. In the experimental part of the thesis, a method of determining 1-hydroxypyrene in urine, gas chromatography with mass spectrometry will be performed.In addition, an exposure study will be conducted in the normal population with predicted low exposure, in the population of smokers and the population of exposed PAU workers.
