Potenciál města Jáchymov pro rozvoj cestovního ruchu

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the potential and attractiveness of the mining town of Jáchymov in the Ore Mountains, its contribution to tourism, and its development. The introductory section describes the foundation and history of the town of Jáchymov. The following part deals with the extracting raw materials, especially silver and uranium in this area and their utilization. Silver was used for coinage at the Royal Mint and uranium for producing uranium pigments. This is followed by the development of spas in Jáchymov associated with healing radon water pumped from the oldest mine called „Svornost“ (The Concord) which has been used up to now. Finally, I assessed the development perspective of the town of Jáchymov, including its attractiveness for tourists.
