Prague Marina Building

Abstract

The aim of this master thesis is to develop a design for the Prague Marina Building and the design of the adjacent public space. The design is situated in the area of the former port of Holešovice near the Vltava river in Prague. The plot is defined on the south side by apartment houses, on the north side by the administrative building of the Czech Ports. The building will contain a yacht club, a restaurant and a museum. The design itself also deals with access to the river for pedestrians as well as for a possible car access directly to the river to place a boat on the water or a ferry trailer. In the design of the adjacent public space, it is important to work with the greenery, which is scarce in cities, to create a pleasant space for living. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical, where the theoretical part is further divided into textual, survey and urban design parts, and the practical part is further divided into textual and drawing parts.
