Abstract
This thesis focuses on evaluating the structure of expenditures on state social support in individual regions of the Czech Republic and defining the relationship between selected socio-economic factors and its level during the period from 2011 to 2021. Based on publications, possible factors that may affect the explained variation are identified in the literature review. The thesis examines research questions regarding which components of SSP have the strongest correlation according to Pearson's correlation analysis and which socio-economic factors affect expenditure levels according to regression analysis. In the practical part of the thesis, an analysis of the average is used to determine how individual components of expenditures on SSP differ among regions. To facilitate interpretation, the average total expenditures are also calculated per 100,000 inhabitants. The highest average expenditure on social benefits was spent by the Moravian-Silesian region, amounting to CZK 4,886,080 thousand. However, the region with the highest total expenditures in thousands of CZK per 100,000 inhabitants was the Ústí region, which spent CZK 407,795 thousand. The results of the correlation analysis between SSP and individual doses indicate that the parental allowance dose has the strongest correlation, with a very strong correlation confirmed at 97%.
Regarding the correlation between SSP and socio-economic factors, seniors and inactive population have the highest correlation coefficient of 0.949, which is confirmed at 97%. Regression analysis of SSP against selected socio-economic factors revealed a positive relationship between SSP expenditures and active population, as well as the children factor, where there was also a positive relationship. The analysis also showed a positive relationship with the inactive population and unemployed. Negative relationships were found for three other variables.
