Abstract
The Thesis deals with the migration directions of inhabitants from regional cities of the Czech Republic for defined time periods. The introduction of the Thesis is devoted to general issues of suburbanization, its form and causes, as well as a description of the used demographic data. The following parts of the Thesis include method of calculating directions of migratory movements, divided into two parts. First is migration from the regional cities (from centroid of the city) and second is to the regional cities (to the centroid of the city), both in a defined time period between years 2006 and 2010. Further two chapters describe usability of distance decay function for regional cities of the Czech Republic and boundary effect solution. The main objective of this Thesis was to present changes in development of migratory directions, usability of a distance decay function and solution of the problematic boundary effect using special tools for migration data analysing and visualizing through geographic information systems.
