Abstract
The aim od my thesis is to introduce metal foams as a new emerging type of materiál with wide field of use, especially in modern industry. The theoretical part of this work focuses on the description of the various casting methods of manufacturing of metal foams and their current use. In the practical part we will deal in more detail previously selected and validated manufacturing processes for foams made of aluminum alloy. As well as the application of these procedures for cast iron and mainly manufacture foams with regular cellular structure.
