Abstract
This thesis deals with the assessment of slope stability with regard to a problematic slide area in Svážná street, Havířov Bludovice. In May 2010, an initialization of slope deformation due to extreme rainfall occurred in the area of interest. The focus of the work is
on the description of the area, including engineering geological conditions and hydrogeological conditions and the current situation is solved by the finite element method using the Plaxis 2D software. On the basis of the outcomes resulting from this mathematical model two remediation methods have been proposed, the effect of which has been modelled. The results are presented in the form of a slope stability degree. Furthermore, the thesis proposes a course of action for the implementation of both suggested remediation methods, the cost estimate and geotechnical monitoring after completing the remediation work.
