Vybrané aspekty kvality života v Ostravě a Karviné

Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on analysis, evaluation and interpretation of selected factors of quality of life in Ostrava and Karvina in years 2000-2010 and comparison of these indicators. Quality of life is evaluated on the basis of indicators of 4 selected areas – environmental, social, health and economical. First, theoretical chapter focuses on defining the quality of life, resources for its evaluation and description of areas, participating in resulting quality of life. Second, more empirical chapter contains characteristic of the Moravian-Silesian region and the cities Ostrava and Karvina. The last chapter deals with evolutional trends of selected indicators for Karvina and Ostrava in the specified period and using these trends compares the differences in development between the cities. The whole thesis ends with conclusion, summarizing findings learned in previous chapters.
