Abstract

The aim of this thesis was to analyze the possible ways to transfer data for the use in diagnostic and monitoring systems and implement universal GSM communication module based microcontroller. The first pages of this work are devoted to ways of wireless communication before the discovery of electricity, first wireless telegraphs and telephones. The analysis of ways to transfer data over long distances via mobile networks, satellite connections and short distances via optical interconnection technology, and various small wireless networks. The second part deals with the design and implementation of the GSM communication module. There are described the individual logic blocks, their importance and functionality. Some blocks are described in the continuity to the firmware. The conclusion of this thesis is devoted to control the GSM unit.
