Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of the hidden internet environment called the dark web. The aim of the paper is to spread awareness of this hidden web and to inform the public about the workings of this web by analysing the environment and marketplaces. The theoretical part first defines the main concepts that are essential knowledge to understand the functioning and processes of the dark web. Next, the thesis evaluates the economic aspects in which it introduces the black economy as a superset? for the activities taking place there. In the next part of the thesis, it discusses the legislative aspects and what are the procedures to combat this type of crime and how to protect oneself from it. In the practical part of the thesis, it conducts an analysis of internet trade in traditional and dark web environments and an analysis of the online and offline drug market. The thesis draws conclusions and recommendations for the safe movement and protection of dark web users.
