Abstract

The thesis „Evaluation Methods of Transition Temperatures for Heavy Plates“ is dealing with the influence of material charakteristics on a transition temperature (Tp) and with various methods of its evaluation. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the most common impact tests used to determine the transition temperature, and basic internal and external factors affecting its value. In this part of the diploma thesis basic methods of the transition temperature evaluation are discussed. In the experimental part the testing material of P355NL2 grade with the guaranteed impact strength at temperatures down to -50 ° C is characterised. Charpy impact tests were carried out on this material and the transition temperatures were evaluated by a number of methods.
