Abstract
The presented thesis deals with the modification of bulletproof fabric to improve ballistic resistance. The modification was carried out by impregnation with a shear thickening fluid. The first part of the thesis contains the theoretical framework related to the problem addressed. The subsequent, experimental part describes the preparation of the shear thickening fluid and the subsequent impregnation of the bulletproof fabric. This process was carried out in the laboratory of the Nanotechnology Centre. An essential part of the work is the verification of whether the modification process was beneficial for improving ballistic resistance, which was carried out in the ballistics laboratory at the Faculty of Security Engineering. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes the results obtained and provides opportunities for further investigation of the problem addressed.
