Abstract
This masters thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical part and experimental part. In the first part of the thesis there are two main chapters, which contain a research concerning the current use of the cement-fly ash mixture in the process of a disposal of the main mines and all its connected issues. Energy by-products are sorted according to the notice „Katalog odpadů – vyhláška č. 8/20221 Sb.“. The theoretical part contains information about the appropriate process documentation such as safety data sheet or technical requirements including legislation for a possible certification of the emerging products. In this part there are also described the basic technology of burning fossil fuels and the types of combustion equipment which we can find in the power plants and thermal power plants. The other half of the theoretical part deals with the use of fly ash in the building industry. Nowadays, the use of fly ash is a common practice not only in terms of finances, but also in terms of the environment. Thanks to the use of energy by-products in the building industry, there is no need for a mining expansion. We can, therefore, replace the natural materials that are used in the production of concrete, cement, ceramic materials, brick products or we can reduce aggregate mining.
In the experimental part of the thesis, there were used samples of fly ash from four companies: Energetika Třinec, Teplárny Zlín, Teplárny ČSA a Teplárny Karviná. Allsamples were subjected to the following analysis: specific surface, specific mass of the samples and analysis of the particle size distribution (granulometers). Following this process, there was done a test of the base mixtures where after 28 days they were subjected to complex tests. Based on the analysis, it was determined that two of the samples did not meet the requirements for base mixtures.
