Abstract

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to make process of slab charge more efficient, and to increase slab capacity utilization. The whole process is based on slab stock and charge orders analyses, as well as production analyses in 3.5 Kvarto sheet rolling mill. For this purpose the most frequent qualities, cross-sections and lengths used in 2007 and 2008 were identified with the help of ABC analysis. Based on final result and findings, my proposal suggests increasing orders of external charges by adding one quality item, two cross-sections and incoming orders of secondary slabs. The main benefits of the above mentioned proposals can be identified in better coverage of rolled sheets assortment, cost savings, and timely deliveries of ordered slabs.
