Abstract

The thesis status and independence of central banks is to evaluate the degree of independence of the Czech National Bank in its formation and now and then to compare of central bank independence of the United States, Japan and the European Union in the context of the independence of the Czech National Bank. The first part focuses on theoretical clarification of the status and independence of the central bank and its method of measurement, the second deals with the development and evaluation of the independence of the Czech National Bank, and the third evaluates the degree of independence from selected central banks, focusing on their weaknesses.
