Abstract

This dissertation is concerned with explosion and fire protection at brown coal separating and crushing plants, and especially operations that are supervised by the State Mining dministration. The work describes definitions and terms related to flammable and explosive dusts in the introductory section, and then it continues with description of operational and safety risks of brown coal dust explosions, and description of main sources of dust pollution. The main part deals with ways of decreasing dust pollution, namely cleaning of sedimented dust by dry and wet methods, using spraying equipment, and by exhausting of dust in the place of its origin. The work evaluates positives and negatives of individual solutions and evaluates and compares their efficiency. The dissertation conclusion is dedicated to explosion protection and fire safety equipment used at brown coal separating and crushing plants.
