Abstract

In this thesis is examined whether it is possible to misuse the technology of 3D printing with plastic materials for manufacture of short firearms. The aim of the work is to try and create one working gun and to assess technical severity and time and financial consumption of the process and then execute a shooting test. If the gun proves to be capable of shooting the bullet velocity will be measured and the stopping power will be calculated. The risk analysis will be processed to determine hazards of creating such weapon, possibility of transfering of the gun through detection frame into guarded areas and to determine gravity of the absence of ballistic markings on the bullet. At last the countermeasures to lower the risk of abuse of 3D printed guns will be proposed.
