Abstract
The European Union fills an important position in the international trade. It is the world's largest importer and exporter of industrial goods and commercial services. Foreign trade of the European Union represents the part of the trade, which EU implements with third countries. This thesis is focused on the analysis of foreign trade of the European Union with impacts on the current account balance. The aim of this thesis is to define the theory of international trade, identify the EU foreign trade and quantify the impacts of the EU trade on the current account balance. EU foreign trade is analyzed in the field of industrial goods and commercial services during the period of 2007 - 2011. Thematically, the content of the thesis is divided into three parts. The first chapter is devoted to the theory of international trade and balance of payments. The next chapter focuses on the analysis of the EU foreign trade and the last section contains an assessment of impacts of EU trade on the current account balance.
