Abstract
This master thesis is dealing with machine vision for the recognition and identification of objects. Manipulation is done with a laboratory model of a sorting line, which contains a buffer for objects for inspection and a buffer for inspected objects, manipulation arms and a manipulation platform. As actuators there are used stepper motors, DC motors and electromagnetic coils. Printed circuits are designed and made for power. Feedback is acquired by two–position switches. The main control unit is compact PLC SIEMENS. PLC controls hardware parts of the sorting cycle. Image capturing is done with a web camera and an algorithm for image processing is run in MATLAB Simulink. Data between PLC and PC are changed via OPC communication.
