Abstract

The focus of this bachelor thesis is the payment systems in the Czech Republic. I begin this work with a look at the theoretical background of the various systems of payment and provide summary of the key knowledge. In the second part, I focus on practical issues regarding payment systems such as bank charges controversy, bank loans, frequency of usage of internet banking and credit cards. At the end, I compare the advantages and disadvantages of various payment systems and provide basic recommendations regarding their usage. The main intent of this work is to provide a complete overview of contemporary payment systems, point out the advantages and disadvantages of each of them and recommend optimal solutions in terms of security, costs, time savings and user-friendliness.
