Abstract

The thesis deals with the financial analysis of a joint-stock company engaged in the mining and processing of silicate and non-ore raw materials. The introductory part describes the history of the company until the present. The subsequent chapters deal with the financial analysis itself, successively from its theoretical definition to the practical application. The theoretical part describes the absolute and ratio indices, solvency and bankruptcy models and DuPont`s pyramid analysis. In the practical part, the theoretical knowledge is applied to the conditions of the particular joint-stock company. On the basis of the calculated values there are specified suggestions and measures that should lead to the improvement of the company’s financial standing and the increase of its profitability.
