Abstract

The topic of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of applying artificial neural networks to the control process of a glass furnace. The theoretical part describes the industrial glass production, modern trends of Industry 4.0 and technology of artificial neural networks. The practical part discusses the procedures that can be applied in the control of glass furnaces. Furthermore, the Statistica program is used to design and train suitable neural network. That may be incorporated in such control. The data for training was recorded over the period 2019-2022. The conclusion provides an overall assessment and suggests recommendations for improving the current state of the art.
