Konkurenceschopnost firmy ze strojírenského průmyslu

Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on the competitiveness of a company from the engineering industry. Using selected analytical methods, the internal and external factors of the company that determine its position on the market are evaluated. The thesis contains a theoretical-methodological and application part. The theoretical-methodological part explains the basic concepts and methods of evaluating competitiveness, which are then used in the application part. These methods include PEST analysis, which defines political-legislative, economic, social and technological factors. Also Porter's model of five competitive forces, which characterizes the bargaining power of suppliers and customers, the power of existing competition, the threat of new competitors entering the industry and the threat of substitutes. The following are the basic ratio indicators of financial analysis, i.e. indicators of profitability, liquidity, activity and indebtedness. The last method is the SWOT analysis, which defines the company's strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats resulting from previous methods. Proposed potential solutions and recommendations to improve the competitiveness of the given company are then related to its weaknesses and threats and are summarized in the conclusion of this thesis.
