Abstract

This thesis is concentrated on the summary of used technologies for data transmission in the mobile networks GSM and UMTS which are in service in the time of writing this work. The theoretical part describes the possibilities of delay during the transmission process. It deals with description of partial phenomena which cause the final value of the delay and it also shows the possible measurement methods for this parameter. The main part of the thesis is focused on the suggestion and description of a measuring analysis for the data transmission delay in the mobile networks. It describes the content of the application in order to fulfill minimal functional requirements for the real testing of the phenomenon. It also deals with the graphical user´s environment of the created application which helps a user to work with it in more comfortable and quicker way. Then, the possibilities of graphical and statistical evaluation of the measured results are described here. The saving of the values is both in a text and graphical form which is more useful for consequent processing within applications of a third subject.
