Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis and measurement of VDSL2 transmission parameters in laboratory conditions. The theoretical part describes the principles of xDSL technologies and configuration options of the ZyXEL VES1724 DSLAM. The practical part focuses on testing three frequency profiles (8b, 17a, and 30a) on various lengths of metallic lines ranging from 0 to 3000 meters. The measurements monitor the impact of attenuation on the resulting bit rate, SNR margin, and bit loading in the frequency spectrum. Based on the results, a proposal for a new laboratory exercise was created, including network element configuration methodology and a sample measurement protocol. This output is intended for practical student training in the field of access networks.
