Abstract

The subject of this bachelor thesis is digital cable television. In the first and second chapter the most used systems of digital television in the Czech Republic are described, which include DVB-C, DVB-S, DVB-T and IPTV standards. The next chapter focuses in detail on digital video broadcasting, its modulation, demodulation, hybrid networks HFC, and their broadcast media. The fourth chapter is dedicated to digital broadcasting from the user’s point of view, for who the explanation of terminology, the origin of digitalization, the connection of individual systems with their services, and an overview of current digital broadcast in the Czech Republic are ngaged and clear instructions how select the necessary equipment to receive digital broadcasts.
