Abstract
The bachelor thesis focuses on the calibration of a rheometer and the study of rheological properties of selected heat transfer fluids. The theoretical part is devoted to the basic principles of rheology, the definition of viscosity, its temperature dependence, and the properties of heat transfer fluids. The experimental part deals with the calibration of the measuring device and the subsequent determination of dynamic viscosity as a function of temperature. The main objective of the thesis is to verify the proper functioning of the rheometer, while the secondary objective is to analyze the flow behavior of the fluids and compare the experimental results with literature data.
