Abstract

This thesis is focused on questions about possible risks of old mines in connection with opencast mining of brown coal in quarries. You can find inside parts about mapping of old and unused mining works, risks of using giant machines for opencast mining, instructions for opencast mining with focus on work in area of old and unused mining works, as well you can find there examples of especial incidents. It describes development of safety instructions in connection with especial incidents. Work is focused mainly on mine area of “Czech coal group company” quarry ČSA. But is taken generally as a whole.
