Abstract
Thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part concerns personnel management. We closely focus on personnel planning, finding and selecting employees, personnel informational system, managerial skills, communication, motivation and coaching.
In practical part, based on critical analysis of the current human resources activities, we suggest the possibility of rationalization the system of human resources management in Municipal Police Ostrava when selecting and placing staff, developing their qualification, motivation and stimulation.
