Abstract

In this paper, a review of the development issues of procurement in the Czech Republic for the period since 2006 when there was a singnificant change in the legislation and came into force a new law, it is the Act No. 137/2006 Coll. On Public Procurement, which replaced the previous Law No. 40/2004 Coll.. The first part is finished and the development of legislation, including changes and amendments. In the second part of this work focuses on the analysis of control mechanisms, particularly how and who supervises or controls over procurement and public contracts. The third important part is to assess whether the surveillance and control activities is sufficient, whether it contributes to the elimination of non-compliance with the law, corruption, non-transparent way during the procurement discrimination against applicants and other bad practices. The conclusion includes suggestions of measures, incentives and expectations of changes in legislation, public procurement in the Czech Republic.
