Abstract
The main aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the explosion parameters, namely the explosion pressure and the rate of explosion pressure rise, of propane and methane with air mixtures depending on three initial parameters: time, concentration and temperature below 25 °C. The results obtained fall within the framework of basic research of low temperature explosion physics. A comprehensive study of the basic phenomena associated with low temperature explosion processes has been studied in a specific variant of a 0.020 m3 cooled explosion chamber. In total, approximately 70 original pressure records were obtained experimentally, from which it was possible to calculate deflagration indexes, laminar flame velocities of the flame front and determine the time from initiation to maximum explosion pressure beyond the scope of this work. Further, thermodynamic calculations of adiabatic explosion pressures and adiabatic flame temperatures predictions were performed. All the above results were compared with state of the art previous studies and discussed. The presented research is two-way interconnected by passing the original results to the industrial sphere for explosion protection, but also with the areas of explosion characterization under non-standard conditions. The results of the characteristics of the system under investigation are particularly important in terms of the boundaries of current knowledge and experience of reaching new standards.
