Analýza korupce ve vybraných zemích

Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyze causes of corruption in selected countries by using certain indicators measuring the perception of corruption and selected institutional indicators. In the theoretical part there is interpreted what corruption is and which factors contribute to the growth of corruption. The third chapter describes methods how to measure the perception of corruption. Empirical part analyzes causes of corruption in selected countries. These factors are divided into historical, exogenous and endogenous factors. The analysis is done on a sample of ten countries. Those are the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria and Romania. In the majority of countries corruption is mainly perceived in political parties, but in Slovakia and Bulgaria corruption is mainly perceived in the judiciary. Quality of public administration significantly influences the level of corruption. The result of regression analysis showed that quality of legislation and government effectiveness have significant impact on the level of corruption. In conclusion there is outlined possible solution to corruption.
