Abstract

Bachelor thesis addresses the issue of manual handling of loads, particularly musculoskeletal disorders or pain in the lumbar area of the back of employees in case of incorrect handling of manual loads. This thesis is focused on the manual handling of loads in mining companies and work activities using mining techniques. Job related injuries are periodically causing employers considerable technical and organizational problems, downtime and financial losses caused by absent workers or employing workers with physical limitations. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the current state of the North Bohemia coal mining company and financial statement of incurred losses. The biggest part of this thesis is devoted to solutions of how to prevent or lower the number of disorder musculoskeletal manual handling of loads injuries, or suggested measures to minimize them. The employer should be able to minimize the number of work related injuries of this kind by applying the proposed solutions into its own working process at a job sites.
