Abstract
This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of protection. The introductory part describes protections, including their composition, functions and different types. It also describes an intelligent electronic device that will be used to protect an industrial enterprise. The diploma thesis also discusses the short circuit and short-circuit currents in detail. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the protected object, which is described in detail here. To set the protections correctly, short-circuit ratios are calculated on the busbars and in the outlets, which determines the settings of intelligent electronic devices, specifically REF 630. This device is used for overcurrent protection of the protected object. In the final part, the thesis deals with the setting of the REF 630 device in individual fields and describes the issue of various settings. Finally, a test of cable insulation is performed.
