Abstract
The aim of this work is to highlight the opportunities provided by artificial intelligence for optimization of complex manufacturing process of steel melting electric arc furnace.
The first part of the work deals with the description of some basic principles of artificial intelligence. For example, the description of different types of neural networks, expert systems or genetic algorithms.
The second part then focuses on the application of some previously described phenomena. The objective is to apply some features of neural networks in the process of steel melting electric arc furnace. The aim is to find a suitable type of neural network and its parameters. The work is an example of analytical and optimization options ELTAV program based on principles of artificial intelligence.
Material and economic optimization refers especially to the structure of charge metalline waste to electric arc furnace and power consumption, which is a significant cost factor.
