Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of fire protection units' interventions during the occurrence of stinging insects in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the frequency and nature of these interventions, to evaluate the tactical and technical means used, to identify the main risks and to propose measures to improve the effectiveness of intervention activities. The theoretical part deals with the legal framework, biological characteristics of the most common species of stinging insects and principles of safe intervention. The work also includes a description of specialised technical means and their applicability in practice.
The practical part is based on statistical data and experience of fire protection units across the Czech Republic. On the basis of the analysis of specific interventions and intervention scenarios, recommendations are formulated for improving the equipment, training of the units' members and the organisation of intervention activities. The work includes a proposal for a unified methodology, measures to increase the safety of responders and the population and recommendations for preventive awareness-raising activities. The results of the work can serve as a basis for practical and methodological use within the integrated rescue system.
