Abstract

The present thesis is an office building which fulfill all the requirements of the Czech Republic. The wall structural system is load bearing walls in both directions. The foundation is a shallow strip footing of 1.20 m under the natural terrain. The walls material is Porotherm Bricks from the company Wiegnerberger. The slabs are made with POT beams with Miako inserts from the same company. The ceiling has reinforced in the places where the load bearing walls of the next floor will be placed. The roof of the office building is a flat roof which has slopes made of its XPS thermal insulation to evacuate the rain water easily. In the second floor there is a balcony which could provoke a thermal bridge. The problem was solved using Schöck Isokorb which is a special thermal insulation with reinforce bars to anchor the balcony slab with the POT beam system. The building has 250 mm of thermal insulation all around its envelope that give to the building an Energy performance certificate type A. The windows of the building has plastic white frame and the external doors has passive characteristics to ensure the thermal tightness of the building.
