Srovnání parametrů a funkcí L2 přepínačů Huawei a Cisco

Abstract

This bachelor thesis concentrates on comparing parameters and functions of L2 switches from Cisco and Huawei manufacturers. First part of this thesis focuses on providing elaborate information about those devices, which were available for practical verification of compatibility. Main focus is providing information on qualities and means of use of these switchers in real networks. Among others, software and hardware equipment of individual switchers is described. Second part of this work focuses on describing and analyzing four functions, which were tested in the school lab. Apart from providing the basic information about these functions and operation principles, this part is concentrates mainly on practical testing of these functions. Problems, that occurred in the process of configurating these functions, are described as well as mutual compatibility of individual devices. This work also includes detailed instructions on configuration of Huawei and Cisco switchers, evaluation and comparsion of these devices.
