Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to familiarize readers with the most widespread methods of position sensing and distance measuring in the automation industry. The individual sensors are examined according to the principle of sensing. More attention is paid to the laser distance sensors, which are also the subject of the practical component, whose aim is to compile and implement the experiment. The experiment itself is designed to show how the sensors respond to millimeter changes of distance.
