Abstract
This thesis is dedicated to the use of discontinuous technology for mining in surface mines, which is the efficient method of mining of brown coal mining in Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis describes the history of the use of discontinuous technologies for mines and quarries. Subsequently, the discontinuous technology is divided into two forms of technology – main technology and auxiliary technology. The next part is the overview of current legislation and the issue of traffic safety, because the overall trend for companies is to fulfill the duty of ensuring traffic safety and eliminate potential risks. The possibilities of discontinuous technologies especially geometry or maintenance of roads are also examined. The conclusion serves as recommendation for the deployment of discontinuous technology and “trolley assist” system usage.
