Abstract

History of the Japanese Economy in Cultural Context The target of my bachelor’s thesis is to find out the relationship between culture and Japanese economic development. The text is divided into five parts, where the first part contains an introduction to the given topic. The second part is aimed on determining the basic terms, evolution of economical thinking and on the relation of culture to the economic development. History of Japanese economy from the year 660 B.C. to the end of World War I is summarized in the third part. This part also observes cultural and political development. Fourth part proceeds with the development till the end of the twentieth century and captures the relation of culture to Japanese economic development. The whole work is ended by a conclusion summarizing the acquired results.
