Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis examines the behavior of fire ventilation under various climatic conditions in an atrium space that utilizes the chimney effect. The aim of the thesis is to assess whether different environmental conditions can affect the function of fire ventilation, which operates on the principle of natural convection, using FDS software with the PyroSim graphical interface for mathematical CFD modeling. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes atriums, fire safety in atrium spaces, and the feasibility of implementing fire ventilation in atriums. As part of the practical section, a model inspired by an actual atrium building was created, and two simulations were performed under different environmental conditions simulating summer and winter seasons. The concluding section compares the results of both simulations and evaluates the extent to which ambient temperature and conditions can influence atrium fire ventilation.
