Abstract

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a decision support tool for multi-criteria decision-making within the MS Excel environment. The theoretical part defines the principles of multi-criteria decision-making and describes the characteristics and development of decision-making tools. Particular attention is paid to Saaty’s method for determining criteria weights and the TOPSIS method for determining the final ranking of alternatives. The primary objective of the thesis is to develop a user-friendly, automated decision-making tool that minimizes subjective errors and provides a platform for selecting the optimal alternative. The tool’s functionality is demonstrated through a practical case study concerning the selection of an ideal place to live among selected cities in the Czech Republic. The result of the thesis is a functional tool that effectively integrates the user interface with the decision-making process.
