The aim of this thesis is complex characterization of ISAD system. Full meaning of abbreviation ISAD is Integrated Starter Alternator Damper. In this thesis there is a part which is dedicated to a structure of the device and its components. After that a different operating states are discussed and so the functions of ISAD device during this states and how ISAD contributes to the overall efficiency of the vehicle drivetrain. At the end of this thesis are explained issues about possible faults of the system and safety functions. There is also described how ISAD influences other parts of the drivetrain and vice versa how other parts of drivetrain influence ISAD.
