Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the design and structural assessment of the main load-bearing system of a two-storey building utilizing the "two by four" construction system. A detailed 3D model was created to determine internal forces in individual structural elements for the assessment. The thesis describes the layout of the building and its structural design. The main part covers the composition of the structures, applied loads, and the subsequent analysis of selected load-bearing elements and joints in accordance with current standards. Calculations were carried out using Microsoft Excel. The thesis concludes with proposed alternative solutions for the building’s roof structure.
