Abstract

Fiscal Coordination in the European Union Study schedule: Economic Policy and Administration Field of study: Euroadministration School: VŠB-TU Ostrava Writer: Stanislav Volčík Head work: ing. Kateřina Dvoroková, Ph.D. Date of submission: 27. 4. 2011 First paper deals with the necessary theoretical understanding of the basics of fiscalpolicy and the historical development of economic thought in the context of the policy. After lerning the basics of fiscal policy is beginning to approach the development and coordination of fiscal policies within the European Unio. These issues are approached examining the possibility of transformation of the European Union budget at the federal, application of the Theory of optimum currency area space on Economic and Monetary Union and ultimately analyzed the effectiveness of the Stability and Growth Pact before and after reform. The conclusion presents the causes and consequences of the ensuing global financil crisis that affected the course of EU public finances, and subsequently the entire fiscal coordination within the EU. The following shows the various measures against the crisis at the European institutions. The main objektive of this is to introduce the issue of fiscal policy, its history in terms of the EU and the subsequent reaction of the EU institutions the resulting crisis in the coordination of fiscal politcy. The conclusion thus expresses the author´s specific current of opinion on the issue of fiscal coordination in the EU.
