Abstract

My bachelor thesis is titled “Design of Introducing New Hotel Products“. To illustrate this topic I used Hotel Sepetná, one of the most sought after hotels in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains region, as an example. The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and practical section. In the first part, I presented the structure of Hotel Sepetná, described its history, the services offered and potential competitors. Next, I introduced the basic theory for the implementation of new products to the market and the specification of the marketing mix in the services branch. The second part deals with a specific example of new services implementation and their evaluation. As my target group I chose families with children and seniors. The marketing research, conducted via questionnaires, revealed basic information thanks to which I discovered preferences and wishes regarding the sojourn in this hotel in the Beskydy Mountains. With the acquired information in mind, I proposed some fundamental recommendations which, I presume, could lead to the improvement of the situation of Hotel Sepetná, especially in the area of competitiveness. My proposals for the families with children include hiring an entertainer for the children, implementing informative publications about the hotel surroundings and focusing on the establishment of a high-quality environment for children. I have determined 10 000 crowns as the optimum price for a one-week soujourn. For seniors, my price determination is 4 000 crowns. My proposals for this group include no additional charge for a double room, the facilitation of getting to know the surroundings via informative publications and snack packets, and hosting entertainment evenings in Hotel Sepetná.
