Export zemí západní Afriky a jeho význam ve světovém obchodu

Abstract

The focus of this bachelor’s thesis is the export of Western African countries and its importance in the world trade. The aim of the thesis is to characterize international trade and the role of developing countries within it, to specify the main characteristics of Western African countries, and to evaluate the structure, volume and development of their exports in the context of international trade between 2015 and 2024 using selected indicators. To fulfill the aim of the thesis, three research questions were formulated: “Which Western African countries contributed the most to total exports between 2015 and 2024?“, “Which product categories did Western African countries export the most between 2015 and 2024?“ and “In which areas did Western African countries have the greatest revealed comparative advantage between 2015 and 2024?“. These questions were addressed through practical analysis. Nigeria, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire contributed the most to the overall exports of Western Africa between 2015 and 2024. Western African countries primarily exported agricultural, mineral and energy commodities, while having a revealed comparative advantage in these areas in most cases.
