Abstract
Industry 4.0 is a concept that sets the direction for new technologies in the industry. This concept is associated with the massive digitization of the production process, which opens up new possibilities to streamline production. In the introduction, this work deals with the concept of Industry 4.0, its historical development, and analysis of key technologies that are associated with it, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) or the digital twin. All these technologies are data-oriented, i.e. they use data collection and analysis to streamline individual processes of industrial production. The quality and quantity of data collected play a crucial role in the functionality of these technologies, so the second chapter deals with the sources and types of data produced in production. Subsequent analysis and effective use of this data are performed using software tools, which are addressed in the third chapter of this work. These tools include, for example, database systems or machine learning technologies through higher-level programming languages such as Python. This work aims to apply the tools described in the third chapter on a simulated dataset of aircraft engines, published by NASA, where using machine learning methods to create a prediction model that will predict the remaining engine life based on data obtained from sensors located in the engine.
