Abstract

The aim of thesis is to design pool hall, both operational layout of the building and mainly design and static assessment of supporting structure of pool’s roof made from wood and wood-based products. Based on the developed retrieval of existing buildings and knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and standards, the layout of the building and operational dispositions of building were designed. The purpose was to make simple form of construction and its roofing. The building is rectangular in shape with a shed roof , the supporting structure consists of arched trusses made of laminated wood. The pool hall is functionally divided into three storey sections , corresponding to the operational and technological units. The operating part including massage center, sauna area and gym, is located on one half of the object in the upper part over two floors. Separate pool hall is composed as banked space over two floors operating in the second half of the object. The technological part is located in the underground part of the building. The basic grid layout and floor plan of the supporting structure has been designed for axial distance of 5m. From this fact depends on procedures proposal. The final design of the supporting structure was modeled in a computer program Scia Engineer. The main part of the thesis contains a static assessment of individual structural elements based on the results of the calculation program. Operating and layout of a roof structure complies with the applicable technical requirements, decrees and standards.
